Who in the World is Marking Answers to My Questions as "Accepted" or not?
When I have posted comments or questions in the Q&A or Ideas sections of the Community, I am finding that someone (i.e., NOT myself) is going through and marking some of the responses I get as "Acceptable Answer".
First of all, only I should be deciding which answers are "appropriate" and which are not. Anyone else doing this is totally presumptuous.
Secondly, the persons doing this are frequently making mistakes (by not understanding the issues being discussed) and marking totally incorrect and inappropriate responses as "Appropriate Answers"! As a result, since I can't simply correct these moderator (or whoever is flagging these posts) mistakes, I have to go in and write up a complete description with all the reasons that the posting was incorrectly marked as "Appropriate".
This "new and improved" community system has a lot of bizarre new behaviors.

Completely agree with your concerns.
For one of my posts, the Accepted Answer suggested I write elsewhere (what is the purpose of Q and A anyway) which I tried to do, only to find it appeared as an additional question in the same Forum. Talk about going around in circles!
Completely agree the person should be the one to decide if the answer has been accepted.
Also what if you ask two questions and one gets answered. Only you should be the one to decide if you still want to pursue the unanswered question.
I also agree that I have seen "Accepted Answer" attached to replies on posts (not my own) that I don't feel adequately answered the query.

I was about to raise a post on this issue when I found this one. I agree with the comments of both Maureen and Jeff.
Earlier, I found a post marked "Accepted Answer" that did not deal with the original poster's question at all. The post related to deleting inputs in the "Other Information" section and the "Accepted Answer" advised on how to merge IDs!
I'm sure this "labelling" action is idea of the developers, not the moderators, but allowing the latter to make the decision on what is "accepted" seems very strange. As suggested, only the original poster should be allowed to decide / indicate whether a response answers their query.
