Possible Parents
Details: As it is now, with ancestors who don't have many sources, people with varying levels of skills make guesses. Some are educated guesses, and some are just guesses. If there is no one else to correct it, those guesses can become the end of line - a place for another descendant to begin, and the line can head off the path.
I wondered if there is a way that we can place parents in a "possible parents" category, where the child could have more than one possible parent and where we could see the different possibilities and researchers could discuss it until a time when there might be enough proof to place them as the real parents, complete with sources and reasons and where a researcher could see the reasoning. Perhaps there wouldn't be so many parents added and deleted.
Anyway, it is just a thought.
Sincerely,
Alice Gedge
