Indexing children when there is no prompted text line?
I've run into the problem a lot that the record I'm indexing lists children, but there is no slot to type their names in the entry. I feel that this is crucial data being overlooked, but I've never found a way to add more lines to an entry. Is there a way to do this? If not am I just supposed to skip the children (and other data) listed in the record?

It is always best to share a batch or at least the title of the project. All projects have different sets of instructions so by sharing this information, we can see what you are seeing and give better answers. To share batches, click on the third icon in the horizontal tool bar and follow the instructions.
I'm going to guess that you are working on something like Naturalizations where we only index the principle person and their spouse. It is true on most projects that we only index the information on the entry form (spouses and parents are usually the fields). If other people's information is to be indexed, the instructions will make mention of this and tell us to create an entry for every person listed on the record.
We often feel like data is being overlooked. But, we must remember that when the researcher finds the index they will be able to view the image and see the names of the children.
If that does't help with your question, please share the batch for a better answer.

@Jacob William Blake There is an Indexing Chat Community that is also a great place to get help as well.
