Questions about the more info to index button
The form for US birth and death records ends with a button that asks if there is more information to index. The 1923 Mass. death record I was working with had birth places for the parents of the deceased and no where to enter that data. I pressed the more info button and got a second sheet that seemed identical to the first. Still nowhere to enter parents birth places. I couldn't find any way to delete the second page, so I entered nothing and completed indexing the other records in the batch. In the quality check it demanded that I fill out that useless second page.
Three questions: 1) What good is the button if it only leads to a page with fields for what you have already done?
2) Is there a way to remove the second page if you regret making it?
3) Is there any way for a diligent indexer to make Family Search aware that their form has no fields to capture valuable information like the parents' birth places in my case?

It can be frustrating when you see important information and no where to put it.
To answer #3: Understand that most times the basic information is what we index for the researchers to find the record. It is then the researchers responsibility to look at all the information on the record for their ancestor. As indexers we make the data searchable and often the basic info is needed. Just know the information isn't lost.
#1 That button is to add an entry if there isn't enough. For instance I am currently doing a project that can have over 100 names. So if there is only 20 entries that are provided I can add more entries for all the other people in the record.
#2 to remove it click on the trash can. It will ask you what entries you want deleted.
Hope this helps. you are doing good. Keep up the good work.

Two factors determine what information is indexed from a document:
- The contract with the record custodian.
- The plans for the index.
The FamilySearch project manager and the record custodians of documents not owned by FamilySearch work to determine what information is to be indexed.
Some documents are so detailed that it would take too long to index all of the information they contain. Keep in mind that indexes are not meant to be all inclusive. The goal of indexing it to create something that ultimately leads researchers to the original document where they can view it in its entirety.
