How to "create a person" for unrelated persons to my family

I often find other people living with the family I am researching through census records. I like to find the on family search, and attach the record to them, as well as to my family. But when I can not find a person already created on family search for particular person, how do I create that person so I can attach that record to them?

Thanks in advance!

This is a commonly asked question, which shows FamilySearch could do with making the issue clearer!

You simply click on the "Recents" heading on any Person page. At the bottom of the list there is an "Add Unconnected Person" option. Select that and you will be able to add any unrelated individual from the next screen.

After creating the new ID, you will be able to go back to the source, click on the "Change" ("head and shoulders") icon and select him / her from the "Change Focus Person" list - then add the source to them.

There is a "Help" article on this at https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-add-an-unconnected-person-to-family-tree - just found!
