Wasted space in Stories

In the Stories section on Memories I was just trying to read about an ancestor, but I couldn't see the entire width of the uploaded document because of the formatting. It appears that FamilySearch has set things in Stories, and maybe elsewhere, such that you see a small section to the left that shows all the pages of the document you are reading. I'm sure this is useful while searching for specific items in a document. But that left window is a huge waste space. See the image below:

The black space surrounding the different pages in the left window is too much. It looks nice, but it is taking up so much space that I cannot read what is in the right window. When I enlarge the document to a readable size, I have to use my mouse to move the document around, which is awkward. I found I can close the left window by clicking on the 3bar menu at the top left, but if I want that window left open, just smaller, I have no options.

Perhaps FS programmers could make that left vertical slider moveable to the right or left, or they could reduce the amount of black space, because it is really too much. It looks neat and tidy, but has no useful function as far I can see.

This “story” was uploaded as a PDF document file.

To a certain extent, the display of PDFs depends on your browser settings and default PDF viewer.

I do not see the same thing your screenshot shows when I view this memory.
