The patron feels that this project should not be intermediate but should be advanced due to the handwriting and sometimes difficult to read pages. Would it be possible to classify this as Advanced? Also, we would like to know how these projects are classified as Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The Business and City directories, for example should, in my opinion be classed as beginner.

When I look at the project when I download batches it is labeled as Advanced and it should be, so I don't know how/where the patron found an Intermediate level. I have worked on the Middlesex projects since they were first offered for indexing over the last several months. As far as I can remember they have always been labeled as Advanced.

They are challenging! And one thing that has surprised me is sometimes I will read through the previous images and next images for clues on how the recorder wrote certain letters and have found many duplicates, or even triplicates of images. No way to flag that something is a duplicate of these cause they are not in the batch. Any ideas.

That is why I don't work on the Cambridgeshire project, because I found that each image was duplicated 2-5 times and I decided it was a waste of my time to duplicate the effort of other indexers and reviewers for that project. I pointed this out to @Heather R Jacobs several weeks ago for the Cambridgeshire project and she indicated they might take it down and remove a lot of the duplicate images. But I don't know if that happened or not because I usually work on the Middlesex and Herefordshire Bishop's Transcript projects, where there is not as much duplication.

So the issue you raise has been raised before and there is not a lot you can do about it.
