In 1752 England changed the month numbering system from March being the 1st month to January. So, if I'm indexing records from the sixteen hundreds and the record indicates the 1st month, do I put down March or January? If it says an event occurred in the 6 month do I put down June or August?

Yes, March would be the 1st month before 1752 and the 6th month would be August. You may also see September, October, November, and December referred to as 7ber, 8ber, 9ber, and 10ber, respectively, because they are the 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th months of the Julian calendar in use at the time.

@Aitken, Conrad J it would be very helpful to provide a project ID so others looking at the question can refer to the particular project instructions. Even though the above answers would be correct, it would be good to look at the project instructions to verify and if no instructions were given on this issue, it would be good to give as a suggestion by clicking on the Feedback in the upper right corner when you are in this project. You may be able to get clear answers also by clicking on Community Help while in the project and also joining that group, Indexing Chat.
