Person born in England doesn’t list state. What do I enter for birth state
in Indexing
the box for birth state only allows entry of us states. Won’t allow entry of other. What do we enter in birth state or do we leave blank.

We never type the word blank into any field. If there is an asterisk beside the field name then it is a required field. However, to render the field blank, you must use the Control + B keys (on a PC), the Command + B key (on a MAC), or the first "x" icon on the toolbar on a tablet device and create the code which will look like <blank>.
