How to index an image that contains the end of previous page's record, but no new info
I am indexing French-language marriage records from Belgium in the 1870's. There are 4 images in this batch. In step one, it looked like there was something to index on the second page, but when I actually got into it, I found that the second image is just the tail end of the last marriage record (all written out by hand) fro the first image, but has no new data to index. The third and fourth pages do have new data and I indexed it all. Once finished, I tried to submit the batch, but the system won't let me, because I haven't entered any data from the second image. What should I do? It is the end of the previous image's document. Do I need to enter all the very same data from the page before, as if it were a duplicate image? Is there a way to just tack the second image on to the first one? Should I give up and go on vacation to someplace warm?
I would appreciate any advice.
Kent
BTW, I am actually really loving this indexing work, and I have often felt a little boost or an idea from beyond.

Well, I went back and looked one at all the icons and options one more time, and finally saw that at the upper left there is a drop-down box that lets me go back to "Step 1: Images". So I went back and listed the page in question as having no extractable data, and now I can submit the batch. I hope I didn't mess it up. On to the next challenge.

Hi I looked further at comments and found the information about using the + - "Tools" "Reference Images" options shown in the box between our entry selections and the actual image. Reference images allowed me to see the next page of the volume being indexed. Very helpful! thank you Vicky

I am also indexing marriages from Belgium, 1860's-1890's. For most of the images, a marriage record has started on the right page of an image (each shows the left and right pages); and finishes with statements and signatures on the following image, left hand side. It's been reasonable to follow the instructions of only indexing the first page of each record.
However, with this current batch, the registrars are starting a new entry right after the last. So at the bottom of the right page of image 1 is simply the date, entry number, and name of the registrar. I begin the index, but need to go to the left side of image 2 to get all the information about the bride and groom, etc. This works fine as long as the beginning of the marriage record has all the important information. It also works if my batch includes the image of the following page with the important information relating to that entry.
What happens when my 4th image begins a marriage record--but only gives minimal information? I start the index, but can't even input any names. The continuation would be on the left side of the first image in someone else's batch. But--they would not index that information because of the instruction to only start at the beginning of a marriage record. Now that information would actually be lost since there would be no reference to the names at all.
thank you,
Vicky
