Change ABT, Abt or abt to about.
To standardize dates, FamilySearch suggests changing ABT, Abt or abt to about. I have thousands of dates that might be standardized. Is there a way that FamilySearch could facilitate making these changes?
Maybe a program could be written that goes through a tree allowing the user to click on a suggested change and the information would be adjusted?
Another option: For place names, suggested standardized places are available in a a drop down list. One can be selected, and the standardized place is entered. Could something similar be done for dates?

There are many forms of dates and places that appear to need standardising, judging by the display appearance. However, I find in spite of looking "wrong" on the Person page, a click on "Edit" often shows they have been standardised correctly.
If you are getting a data warning flag, however, these inputs do need to be standardised manually. I have previously requested a program to be run to change all my flagged "----, York, England" entries to be standardised to "----, Yorkshire, England" (as FamilySearch changed the standard from "York" to "Yorkshire" at county level) but was told this was not possible and I would have to change (hundreds, if not thousands) of these manually.
I would not hold out much hope of FamilySearch running a routine to deal with this. Metadata problems are rarely dealt with - either in this context or that of historical record collections that have been incorrectly titled.

It's just a suggestion. There is absolutely no need to do anything. This purely cosmetic change does not make any difference in the function of Family Tree. All it does is make the details pages look more consistent as you go through a tree. You probably have better ways to spend your research time. As you are working current research you may want to fix these as you come across them but that is all I would do.
Regarding your "Another Option," there is a drop down list for dates just like there is for places that you can use to quickly make these change when you are working on a person for some other reason.

Just open any date with abt, click in the end of editing box, and press the space bar or the downward arrow. That will open the list.
