FamilySearch

.

FYI

.

This is NOT a good experience ...

.

Happily, working away in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...

.

Well aware that there is going on, a "Now", USUAL, Weekly Update/Release (ie. Sunday night/Monday morning - Mountain Time) ...

.

All of a sudden, "Kicked Off", during (ie. in the Middle of ) a "Weekly" (ie. Sunday night/Monday morning - Mountain Time) Release/Update.

.

UNABLE to immediately RE-ACCESS, log back into, "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.

.

Question: DID this ALSO happen to those, around the REST of the World, doing "Indexing"?

.

It may be acceptable in Utah, USA (ie. Mountain Time); as, most are asleep.

.

But, it is definitely NOT appreciated, by the REST of us, around the World.

.

The "Banner" on 'FamilySearch' states:

Some features on FamilySearch may be unavailable as we make improvements to the site starting Monday, February 8th at 5:00 pm (UTC+0-10:00) and lasting about 90 minutes. We apologize for the inconvenience.

.

That "Banner" states ... Some features ... NOT the WHOLE "System".

.

Submitted for your, information; attention; and, consideration.

Had no problems this morning / afternoon (GMT) in England, Brett. Have mainly been working on Family Tree, but things fine over the last 4 hours.

    .

It was between the Release/Update of 5pm and 6:30pm on Monday (evening) my Local time (UTC+10).

    [ ie. Sunday night/Monday morning ( Mountain Time ) ]

    .

Once "Kicked Out" in the 'Middle' of the Release/Update, it could NOT be accessed again until well over an Hour or more after the Release/Update.

    .

We are most likely on on a DIFFERENT "Servers", if yours did not go down.

[ as 'FamilySearch' has a number of "Servers" for (around) the World ... ]

    .

I am back up and running now, have been for some Hours now (1am Tuesday morning).

    .

Still. it was not a good experience, right in the middle of doing things - especially, during one of the ("Bannered") Weekly Releases/Updates.

    .

Perhaps, coincidental; but, I wonder ...

[ as "Servers" are at the 'mercy' of where they are located ... ]
