Please restore PID: LDLR-236 and arrange locked with me admin.
I spent the last 3 months detailing the Jesus Christ PID LDLR-236. It was a locked relationship record, so it could not be deleted, or relationship changed. Yet, someone in the FamilySearch admin staff must have deleted it, so thoroughly, it cannot be restored, nor found as a deleted record.
Please have person who made this decision, contact me, I what to know their reasoning behind this.
I KNOW records can be locked so they cannot be edited, can that locking allow one person to edit that locked recorded? Ie, can I be made the administrator of a single PID?
I sure wish someone from the FamilySearch staff had collaborated with me before they deleted this record.
Best regards, LeEric Marvin

You might want to send your request to the FS support team or call them. I'm not sure if anyone moniters the forum.
btw, I used to know a person by your same name in CA; at an Air Force base. Perhaps you are him? Send me a Private Message if so. I'd love to catch up.

I'd imagine that there are many profiles that have been created for Jesus and other persons from the Biblical Era. FS may have been trying to remove duplicates. The fact that there is no known link from Jesus or his family to modern day genealogies is another reason that this profile may have been removed. Also, the FSFT is used by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for ordinances and I'd guess that performing ordinances on Jesus or Mary may be considered inappropriate in Latter Day Saint belief.

A van Helsdingen,
The fact that there was no "deleted" record that I could restore, tells me this wasn't the usual merge or relationship detachment.
It isn't my intent to do temple work. Rather to flesh out Jesus Christ's entry. which was frankly embarrassingly and disrespectfully bare of any data.

Have you looked at any other profiles on FSFT of Jesus? You may be able to add information to those.
I'd guess that profiles of Jesus, as both a important historical figure and an important figure to Latter Day Saints, may be subject to different rules than other profiles. Maybe someone made a rude or inappropriate edit to the profile you were editing and FS decided to delete the profile to avoid desecrating the name and reputation of Jesus. But I am just guessing here. Hopefully FS Support will be able to help you.

Please don’t be offended by this. I understand this site is originally for those that are religious. But it is really a wonderful genealogy site for all people of all religions. For those of us that are not of the same religion is there a way to remove the references to Jesus and Mary Magdalene and any other people that are not historically proven to exist? It will not let me simply delete them from my tree.
Thank you in advance. Jennifer B

@JenniferBannon3, you cannot delete the unproven/fictitious/legendary profiles, but you can remove the relationships between them and your ancestors. Use the little pencil-and-box icon to the right of the child's or couple's names.

Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Just in passing ...
Also, NO, offense intended ...
Religion aside ...
No harm done ...
[ Especially, if they do not impact, on one's "Ancestral" Lines ... ]
[ Whereas, there are many, I am sure, that would LOVE them, to be part of their "Ancestral" Lines ... ]
'No', they can be just left, as is, they DO NOT need to be "Deleted"/"Removed" ...
Just my thoughts.

I was surprised that the only "version" of Jesus Christ in Family Tree that was easy to find is the one referenced here - ID LDLR-236. Not being a Church member, I was even more fascinated to discover Jesus with Mary Magdalene as his spouse and a whole family line extending, I assume (I didn't have the time to follow it through) to modern times.
For anyone with an interest in this issue, I would encourage reading of the article at https://byustudies.byu.edu/article/was-jesus-married/ as well as examining the Family Tree ID of Jesus in detail.
After reading this, I think I now understand the meaning of Brett's somewhat cryptic remarks in his post above!

All,
Has been over a year since I last looked here. FS did restore the PID. They have the ability to render the PID "private" and thus viewable to only the original creator of it, whom I wasn't. I was able to get FS to "restore" the PID. And then again last week (my fault).
Indeed, as Brett and Paul indicate, Jesus is a controversial person. Paul, thanks for the link, I need to mull over its concluding statement. It maybe that my remarks on Jesus's PID are not cryptic enough....

Paul,
You mention Jesus was easy to find. That wasn't the case before I got involved. His name woud be everything under the sun, except the obvious " Jesus Christ". There are now plenty of alternate names that helps other languages to find him. The duplication count is considerable less these days. When folks couldn't find him , they'd make a new PID.
Julie, it's true they can disconnect the relationship, but that effects everyone. And then folks just reattach it. A never ending circle.
Thanks!
