Add more detail to "your relative" emails.
I receive emails (like everyone else) about relatives. The other day I received one about a relative that was mentioned in an obituary. It took a couple of hours searching, trying to find how I was related (he wasn't in my tree--the parents were there). I finally discovered that he was a son of a second marriage. It turns out the father married a sister with a very similar first name after his first wife died so I missed it on several passes through all the info! I'm wondering if it would be possible, when these emails are sent out, that more specific info about the relative could be attached.

You write: "I receive emails (like everyone else) about relatives." Actually, not everyone - certainly not me - does receive these emails. They are only meant to provide suggestions, which - as you have found - can be very time consuming to deal with and not always lead to the anticipated result.
If you are finding them more trouble than they are worth, you can unsubscribe from receiving them (as I have) and just rely on your own research to find your elusive ancestors and relatives.
