Confusing behaviour after being timed-out

I don't remember experiencing this until recently. To illustrate the problem: I have Family Tree pages open in two tabs. I return to the screen after a break and refresh one of the pages. I thought that I could carry on from there when I switched to the other page, but appeared to lose the input I had made to that page. However, the situation was not as bad as it seemed!

The specific instance involved my inputting a new note in the Collaboration section. After I "saved" it, the whole note (including heading) appeared to be lost. I reloaded the page, but still no sign of it (the note heading) in the Collaboration section. However, as soon as I clicked on "Add a New Note" - thinking I would need to retype it all again - the heading and whole of my input could be seen! A quick click on "Save" and it was retained. (I didn't experiment to find out if I really did have to save the item again - perhaps it had been properly saved already, but I didn't want to risk the consequence of not clicking on "Save" a second time - i.e really losing all my typing!)

I have noticed this a few times lately, but forgotten about it in between times. I guess I should get in the habit of refreshing any other pages I have opened, just after I sign in again on the "first one". That way, I won't have the shock of thinking I've lost a long, Collaboration input - when it has just been temporarily hidden by some "quirk" in the programming. (Although I'm sure another user - more "computer savvy" than me - will advise this is perfectly logical program behaviour!)

I think the way "everyday" users will experience this is - as I was reminded just now when opening a FT page in a third tab I had open - when the page just jumps / flashes instead of responding to your action. Again, as an example: from the person page (returned to, after been logged out) you click on "View Tree". Apart from a quick flash of the screen nothing happens. However, a second click takes you to the page (landscape) you were trying to get to.

Has it always been this way? I nearly always have multiple Family Tree pages open yet, as I say, just don't remember this sort of behaviour until fairly recently.
