Campaign: RECORDS ... (ie. We found a record that may include your ancestor.)

.

https://www.familysearch.org/campaign/record-discovery

.

Question:

WHY, does this Campaign, SEND us "Records" (ie. We found a record that may include your ancestor.), that are ALREADY attached, to our Ancestors, in fact, in MANY cases, those that WE, ourselves, attached?

.

Please advise.

.

As, sending us (personally), through "Notifications" (ie. "Discoveries") in 'FamilySearch', such "Records" (ie. 'Sources'), that are ALREADY attached, to our Ancestors; and, especially, those that WE, ourselves, attached, is REDUNDANT; and, somewhat, demeaning.

.

You NEED to IMMEDIATELY address/fix your Campaign of "Records" (ie. We found a record that may include your ancestor.).

.

You NEED to, "Filter" OUT, of your Campaign of, "Records" (ie. We found a record that may include your ancestor.), SUCH "Records" (ie. 'Sources'), that are ALREADY attached, to our Ancestors; especially, those that WE, ourselves, attached.

.

'Thank You' in advance.

.

Submitted for your, information; attention; and, consideration.

I second Brett's suggestion, though I'd prefer a friendlier tone! This is a great resource, and the emails are potentially engaging, but it does seem like a good step to filter, so that individuals aren't getting emails about records which they themselves added.

So, for example, today I got an email with the subject line, "Bart, we found religious records about your grandfather." Cool! Exciting! It takes about five clicks to reveal that, in fact, this is a record I myself attached to my grandfather earlier this year. Anticlimactic, to say the least. Possibly even frustrating.

I seem to get these frequently. Today I am finally unsubscribing from such emails.

Please, wise programmers of FamilySearch, filter against sending such emails to the person who attached the records in question. Or, if you prefer, you could at least include the name of the person who attached thThe record in the email.

    Thank you for your consideration,

    Bart
