did anyone email you back with the answer?
it was a little unclear what you were trying to invite people to?
1) FamilySearch?
2) FS Community?
3) A specific group in the community?
4) Something else?

I feel that you may be referring to, either,
(1) "Easy Invitations" to Members of a Ward/Branch; or,
(2) "Invitations" for Members of a Ward/Branch to "Join" the "indexing" 'Group'
.
I believe that there are (or, was) problems/issues with regard to, BOTH, the aforementioned.
.
[ If memory serves my right, which it does not often do, I believe that part of the problem/issue was that, the "Contact Name" of the (Member) User/Patron IS "Required", not just an "E-mail" address; but, I stand corrected if I am wrong. ]
.
I am just not sure what the exact state of play is in relation to them is now.
.
As such ...
.
As an aside
.
I am "Tagging" this (General) 'Question' of yours in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, to two (x2) specific 'Groups' in the Forum being:
(1) "All Temple & Family History Consultants"; and,
(2) "Indexing Chat",
in the hope that, the members of those groups may be able to answer/assist you (ie. shed some light or perspective on the matter).

@enochbishop1 enochbishop1 The easiest way for your congregational members to join the group is to have them index. Then they will be automatically added. To have others outside your congregation join, it is easiest to have them search for the group (Find Groups button at the bottom of the Web Indexing main page) and request to join.

Seeking access to enable the invitation functionality found in family search application so I can send out invitations to ward members to join in our indexing efforts.

Sorry Brett your response was very scattered and cryptic, I was not able to understand what you were sharing. I am looking for access in Family Search to be able to send out invitations to ward members to join is in our indexing efforts. Thank you for your help.

Thanks Heather for your reply. I am trying to obtain access in Family Search to the Invitation function, as it is currently showing as inactive. I want to send out invitations to ward members from FamilySearch to join us in our indexing efforts. Especially to ward members who have never used Family Search as of yet. Thank you,
Enoch Bishop

Enoch, in order to send out invitations, you will need to contact each person individually and find out their FamilySearch contact name. Emails and their every day names won't work. It is very time consuming to do. What might be an easier option is for you to send the URL link to the ward group page (and also the main Web Indexing page) through an email to your ward members. I hope you are able to have some success.
