Where is the group that contains the information from the old Get Satisfaction forum?

IF, you mean the POSTS from the OLD 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum; THEN, they are what is known as the "Legacy" POSTS, in its TEMPORARY "Replacement", the (New) "IDEAS" 'Feedback' Forum, which is currently, on a separate platform, within this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
.
You find them using the "Search Records" part of that Forum.
.
The OLD Platform for the OLD 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum NO LONGER exists; so, any previous 'Links' (or, "Bookmarks"); or, those 'Links' from the "Results" that come up in an INTERNET "Searches", NO LONGER work.
.
'FamilySearch' spent time and effort to somehow, "Copy"; and, "Create", them with NEW ("Legacy") identities in the (New) "IDEAS" 'Feedback' Forum.
.
"Legacy" meaning that they are "Ready-Only" ...
[ But, you can reference them by their New URLs ... ]
.
.
Here is the direct 'link' to that (New) "IDEAS' ('Feedback') Forum:
https://community.familysearch.org/s/idea/Idea/Default
.
The (New) "IDEAS' ('Feedback') Forum can also be accessed from the 'Bottom', of just about, any page/screen, through (by accessing) the "Feedback" 'Link'.
.
.
Where a "Pop-Up" (aka: "Modal") 'Window' will appear ...
.
Where you select, the "Go to Discussion Board" ('Button'/'link'), under the "Community Discussion".
.
.
The (NEW) "IDEAS" Forum is still MONITORED by "Official 'FamilySearch' Representatives" (eg. Product Managers; and, Engineers/Developers) responsible for the "Design" and "Development" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
I hope this helps.

In addition to what Brett has given you, note the following:
1) All of the images that were included in all of the discussions are now missing. They did not come over to the IDEAs area with the texts that were referring to them (this is made many of those legacy discussions pretty useless)
2) When you are on the main IDEAs page (i.e., the first image above in Brett's post), the search facilities do not work as you would expect. If you use the search box in the very top right corner of the window (next to the bell icon), it only searches EVERYTHING ELSE in the communities but NOT the IDEAs area. In order to actually search the IDEAs area you have to use the search box immediately at the top of the list of topics, and even that one is quite limited--e.g., it won't find a poster's name unless it is actually in the contents of a post.
3) The left hand side of the IDEAs page has a list of filters. "Legacy" is one of them and will show all of the legacy discussions from the old GetSatisfaction.com site. Note that anytime you try searching text, the filters tends to keep resetting which makes finding things rather difficult.
The current IDEAs area was intended only as a temporary place and FS couldn't put a lot of time in refining the above issues. However, FS is about to move the FS community as well as the IDEAs area to a new platform. That should help a lot and will be actively maintained.

Thank you Brett and Jeff!! Don’t think I would have found it without your guidance. I miss Get Satisfaction and look forward to FS’s new roll out of it on March 15. In the Legacy group you directed me to I only see a small handful of former Get Satisfaction posters. Where is Tom Huber? Where is Julie? Where is Rotkapchen? - and everyone else? I hope they all come back. Their inputs were extremely valuable. Thank you again for helping me find the Legacy group.

I mean Juli.

Juli has posted in the FS community a few time since last fall. However, she uses her full name here on her postings which I believe is "Julia" something (sorry Juli, I'm getting old 😊) I could try find her complete name but the search facilities here are pretty poor, and those in the Ideas area are next to useless.
Tom has also responded to posts here but probably less than a half dozen times. I haven't seen Rotkapchen at all, but since nothing was ever done regarding all her very detailed posts over the last few years in GetSatisfaction.com, I wouldn't doubt that she has given up on getting any kind of relief from posting here.
With the exception of one or two posts last fall when the transition to Ideas occurred, I have only seen one single response to any of the postings made in the Ideas area since then. So in spite of the comments last fall regarding Ideas being watched as GetSatisfaction was, I personally have a very hard time believing it. I've gotten to the point that I have not even reported several newly introduced bugs I've come across in the system since I now believe that nothing will be done about them anyway. So why waste the time? I do suspect that is at least part of the reason that you don't see a lot of the "old crowd" currently participating in Ideas (or even in the FS community for that matter).
I sure hope that the Ideas area on the new platform will be better since the current version is pretty useless for technical feedback. The searches are pretty useless, the size of individual posts are quite limited, and it's a pain trying to attach images since actual image files themselves can't be attached at all and the size of the image is also severely limited. As far as technical feedback forums go, it is the worst I've seen for the purposes it is supposed to have.
So if there are some major improvements to Ideas, you might start to see more participation, but many participants prior to last fall flat out said that if certain things were put into the Ideas area that they would not be participating. So it is rather obvious why a lot of them are not here.
I have great hopes for the new "Ideas". Every significant software tool out there needs a technical feedback forum of some sort. Chat type communities can assist with this, but they are not designed to function in the fashion of a reasonable tech feedback forum.

Thank you, Jeff, for responding. I really miss the old forum - especially the way you could report bugs/other problems and get technical feedback from the engineers. That seemed really valuable to me. If there is no conversation between the engineers and the users about functionality then the whole thing seems pointless to me.
It's also not clear (at least to me anyway) as to which group technical questions should be posted to. Does Joe Martel ever post on this new platform?

Good points, Carolyn. There has been considerably less involvement from FamilySearch engineers of late, which is a shame because we cannot be sure any notice is being taken of the issues we are raising: particularly relating to bugs. I know it is generally expected we "ordinary users" are in the best position to give advice, but naturally we can't mend anything that becomes broken! Yes, I especially miss Joe Martel's involvement - mind you, he did deserve a holiday from all the flak took on behalf of everyone else in the organisation!

I really am confused about which group to post functionality questions to. I recently posted a question asking if there is a size limit to the amount of text that can be entered into a Merge Reason Statement field (see https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/83323/is-there-a-limit-to-amount-of-text-that-can-be-entered-into-a-merge-reason-statement#latest) but have not had any response yet.
Should I be posting this question to a different group?

Carolyn, I am also confused with the incoherent groupings that we have. Is "Q and A" an Ideas forum, a special Group for My Feeds, both, or something else entirely? When You post something, it seems to show up ALL OVER THE PLACE NOW. This is exacerbated by the use of the "@" marker. So the concept of a single "correct" place to go for specific questions or answers has pretty well been been trashed by the vague and ill-defined groupings that now exist for this category of questions.
ORIGINALLY, the content of the "Ideas" area was the replacement for GetSatisfaction FamilySearch feedback forum. This was the place where technical feedback was provided for the FamilySearch website including all the FamilyTree tools, Historical database record search tools, and other database tools NOT INCLUDING the FamilySearch Communities. For feedback regarding use and behaviors of the FamilySearch Community, the community had a special couple of groups dedicated to that.
Now everything has been "mushed" together and overlapped so much that there are no logical places for any technically related issues anymore. The people designing these systems are OBVIOUSLY not using them themselves.
So to answer your question, I believe that you posted in the correct group. The problem is that there is no significant (if any) TECHNICAL support happening at all anymore. So my suggestion is to go ahead and post there, but do as I've seen others now doing by also posting the same question in multiple other groups or places. At least that way if someone else (i.e., not a FS employee or engineer) has stumbled across the issue too, they might have found ways to deal with it.
Until the people actually designing these tools decide to start enlightening the rest of us by answering our questions, we are pretty much all in the dark.

Thank you, Jeff. At least now I don't feel so alone.🙄
