You probably need to include more details and maybe start with his parents in the area they were born. Most of all it would help you if you ask the question in the country/state community group in which they were living. There will be people in the, for example, Spain group that are familiar with the records and could tell you where to look. So first of all go to the community page and search for the location you know the person comes from and join the group or groups that come up, then ask your question with the specific details connected with that couple, someone will help you there.
