The "Settings" in your FamilySeach account (familysearch.org) are separate from those in your Community account (community.familysearch.org). They both have an email address for you. Check the community settings to confirm that both they and your main family search settings are the same for your email.

Thank you for the quick reply. I checked again and yes the email address field of both Search and Community are the same new email address. This was changed several weeks ago so I thought it would switch over by now.

I did notice again that my Community user ID begins with the old email address. Is there a way to change that to see if it fixes the issue?

There is actually a third email address if you are a member of the church. It is in your church membership account and can be accessed from the general church website. But I don't know how that could cause your problem.

If I understand correctly, when you go into your community account and go to your "My Settings" page, the email address prefix on the Account Username (i.e., the part that precedes the ".fscommunity.fscommunity" suffix) does not match the Account Email address that is right next to that username. Is that correct?

If it is, I do not know how you would change your Account Username if your Account Email address is already correct. You will probably have to call the Help Desk for assistance.

Yes. Your middle paragraph restates the problem exactly. I will contact the help desk as you suggest.

    Thank you.

If you do happen to be a member of the church, I would look at your main church membership account first and verify that your email there is correct as well. That community Account Username is obviously automatically generated from an email address located somewhere else. It might be the one from your membership account.

However, it could also just plan be another piece of broken software in the system. It's not unheard of 😊
