Should I scan and upload old pedigree charts into FamilySearch?

My grandmother did lots of genealogy back between 1960-1980. I believe she submitted them all to the Genealogical Society (what is now FamilySearch) back then. She has since passed away. I inherited her boxes of genealogy. I have about 30 "pedigree charts", typed up on 8 and 1/2 by 17 inch paper. I want all this information to get input into FamilySearch, but I believe most of it is already in FamilySearch. Is there any value in me scanning all of these pedigree sheets and uploading them into FamilySearch? If so, would I just put them into the "Memories" section of the persons listed in the paper pedigree chart? Or is there some other feature on Family Search that is made for such scanned items?

I would cross check information to make sure the information is there in Family Search, which is more work for you, but would be what would have to be done anyway if scanned. Not the easy answer, but if you have time to cross check it would be most helpful to others.

Chances are info from 30 years ago may be less reliable than more current research (but you can surely analyze that) .You could indeed uload to FS Memories.

Here is an example I have done.

note that in my case - I did not take the time to link each FGS to the family in FS FT (which I could have)

Rather - I linked the entire set of sheets - to the person who did the research.

    (these were her files)

So others could review her research files.

Thats exactly my thoughts and recomendations

way too many people wait till it gets organized

and in the end they die and it gets thrown out

My feeling is - dont worry about the format - just get the darn thing scanned

and then you rest easy that the records wont ghet lost

Thank you. I mean to cross-reference everything eventually, but that is a lot of details, and I just want to get stored digitally somewhere, until I can get to that. If I die, I am not confident that this wouldn't all get lost. So I want to scan it and put it somewhere until I can cross-reference it. Thanks again.

Yes, I looked at yours. I think that is what I will do. Scan them and put them into my Grandmother's memories, and then cross-reference all the information when I am able (when retired). I am curious about yours, it seems to have many pages of information all on one memory. With my scanner, I don't see how to do more than one page for each memory, so I would have to upload about 30 pedigree sheets as 30 memories, as opposed to yours appears to be about 10 pages all as one memory. How do you do that? Thanks for the suggestions.

Thank you. That is what I will do.
