How does my friend give me access to her tree so I can help her on a specific line?

Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can use the Help Others link to view another person's family history information in Family Tree.

Because Family Tree is a “shared tree” anyone can view & edit deceased persons
you can “follow” a person in your friend’s pedigree so it is easier to find when you wish to help her.
You can also add your friend as an living unconnected person (with her permission) & navigate to her pedigree using My Contributions

no special help mode is needed to access deceased persons entered by anyone else.

People dont have individual family trees in FamilySearch, like they do in Ancestry. It is one massive database that we all share and collaborate on.
