My parental grandfather Jack Pugh is a huge mystery. Before he shows up in Texas in 1917-18 he doesn
in Alabama. His parents are listed as Will Pugh and Lula Nobles. We haven't found information on any of them other than a 1900 census and not positive it is them, but Jack isn't listed. We were told Jack Pugh was raised by a cruel grandfather that beat him and he ran away at 13. I do have my family tree with what little we have found. We know most Al records were burned in the civil war. Just keep hoping there might be a family bible or someone that has researched the Pugh family extensively.

.
FYI
.
Due to the nature of your 'Question ...
.
I am "Moving" this 'Question' of yours, in the 'Group' being "How to Use FamilySearch Community", in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, to the 'Group' being "General Questions", in the Forum; so that, the members of that group can answer/assist you.
.
That Group is "Public", which you can join, if you wish.
.
As, that 'Group' being "How to Use FamilySearch Community" relates to HOW to USE the "FamilySearch.Community" Forum", rather than for research help/assistance.
.
And ...
.
As an aside ...
.
I am ALSO "Tagging" this 'Question' of yours in to two (x2) specific 'Groups' in the Forum being:
(1) "Welcome to Texas Y'all!"; and,
(2) "Southern States Family History Research" ... [ Includes: Alabama ],
(3) "United States Genealogy Research",
in the hope that, the members of those groups may be able to answer/assist you.
.
Both, those Groups, are ALSO "Public", which you can join, if you wish.

@ACasanova ACasanova I took a quick look around this morning. You are finding new records because FamilySearch just captured those images in Hardin County. I have been to Kountze, TX. It's a small town, likely someone in the area might know this family. I would start by reaching out to the Hardin County Genealogical Society on Facebook. Here is some information on that group: https://www.kountzelibrary.org/about-us/kountze-organizations/hardin-county-genealogy-library.html?fbclid=IwAR1u5AFjW2x5DdoZOkwf8J8SUwDF5ew5eSxJFgZUMNRnIuihs4Ff13K2vI8
I hope that helps! If not reach back out to me and I will see if I can find someone in that area for you to talk to.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. The early years are what we can't find any information on. No birth, etc. He starts showing up in Tx at the age of 18. From that point on I have information on him. We need to find what Pugh's he is related. It is likely he spent his early years in Al. as some Pugh's with matching DNA were found. We just can't find him in any family.
