As I previously raised in the "Beta" ("Test") Environment (being the 'Vanilla' "Staging" area) ...
.
Is there ANY, acceptable, Reason that OUR "Display Name" is NOT being displayed, like the Computer version, of 'FamilySearch'!?
.
.
'FamilySearch' is NOT "Social Media", which unfortunately, is what appears to be the way, the "Design", of MANY Part of 'FamilySearch', is heading!
.
I am certain, that MANY of the "Older" Generation, myself included (which, I would suggest, is the BULK of the VERY "Active" Users/Patrons), would like to see their "Display Name" being displayed, INSTEAD of that USELESS "Portrait" Icon (or, possibly, in "Social Media" 'lingo', "Avatar").
.
IF, room (aka: real estate), on the page/screen, is a problem/issue; THEN, please just DISPENSE with that ABSOLUTELY, "Useless"; and, "Unnecessary", "Portrait" Icon (or, possibly, in "Social Media" 'lingo', "Avatar").
.
I am sorry ...
NOT "Old School" ...
Just one, who DISAGREES, with the way, the DESIGN of MANY Part of 'FamilySearch', is heading, towards "Social Media" - which "FamilySearch' is NOT.
.
Just my thoughts.

Since FamilySearch is using an external company's community platform rather than trying to build and maintain one from scratch, we sometimes have to conform to the limitations of the tool. Get Satisfaction, Salesforce, Sharepoint, Vanilla Forums, etc all have their own unique appearance. Sometimes you get luckier than others when it comes to what you can and cannot change.
When you click on it the display name does appear.

'Thank You' for responding ...
So, sadly, from what you imply ...
Due to the ('Vanilla') "Platform" LIMITATIONS ...
That is it, NO "Display Name", just a RIDICULOUS "Avatar" ...
That is just so sad ...
Brett
ps: "Social Media" ... here we come ... like it or not
