How do I index this Grantee that could be a person or corporation?
US, New York, Catskills—Index to Land Records, Grantors, 1630-1975 [Part A][MS77-MCF] I am seeing this same Grantee throughout the document and not sure how to index it. The first example is on the first page and the first Grantee. After the name J. C. Hopkins there is the ampersand, which I would put "and" and then the next word, possibly an abbreviation "ano"? So do I just put the J.C. Hopkins and leave out the other or put as a corporation and put "and ano"?

In the Field Help for Grantor surname we see this instruction. "Do not include titles or terms, such as "Mrs" or "Jr," with the name. When typing the name of the grantor, do not include descriptive words or terms, such as "by Atty" or "et al" or "and spouse," that may have been written with the name"
What that boils down to is that we do not index any of the terms we see with the names. Just index the person's name. Thanks for doing the indexing. You are helping others which is always a great thing to do!
