Where to Begin with Norwegian Genealogy

Beginning about 1500, churches in Norway required their clergy to keep christening (or baptisms) records. This is a great place to start your Norway research. These records should contain the birth date, christening date, the father’s first name, mother’s name, the child’s name, and generally the residence.
