From an individual's page click on Tree. On the left hand side you can choose Landscape, Portrait, Fan Chart and Descendancy.

There is no option to choose landscape, portrait. It automatically goes to fan

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

Providing, that you are referring, to the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch' ...

When you access, the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch', and, go from the "Home"/"Landing" page/screen, to your "Ancestral" Lines (ie. "Pedigree"), often referred to by many; as, one's "Tree"; then, the "Default" View, that appears, is that which one LAST used.

    Let me explain ...

There are FOUR (x4) "Pedigree" 'Views' ...

    They being:

    ▬ Landscape; or,

    ▬ Portrait; or,

    ▬ Fan Chart; or,

    ▬ Descendancy

    As such ...

The "Pedigree" 'View', that appears, the NEXT time, that you "Log Into" (ie. 'access'); and, go to the "Family Tree" Part, of 'FamilySearch', WILL be the 'View', that was LAST used.

    Now ...

    That Said ...

The way to "Change", the "Pedigree" 'View', is easy ...

    And ...

    Pictorially ...

I hope, that this may help/assist, somewhat.

It would be helpful to know if you are using FamilySearch in a web browser or if you are using the Family Tree mobile app.

There are only 2 pedigree options in the Family Tree app—portrait or fan chart.

To change which view you see when you open the app, click the blue circle in the lower right corner — this image is from the iOS app.

You can also set different options for each type of chart.
