When I look at at the Detail page for once of my ancestors, he is in his correct family, but he is also attached again to just his father. How can I correct that?

Click on the edit button of your ancestor where he appears as a child with just his father. Next to the father's name click Remove or Replace. I click Remove and type Duplicate as the reason. Now your ancestor should appear only with his mother and father.

The most complete answer depends on the exact circumstances of the record.

    1. If the mother and the child have the same ID in both relationships, click on the little pencil beside the child's name where he is listed with only the mother then click remove the child from the relationship. The reason is "Duplicate relationship."
    2. If the child has 2 different IDs and the mother's is the same, merge the 2 records for the child.
    3. If the mother has 2 different IDs but the child has the same one, merge the records for the mother.
    4. If both have different IDS, merge the records for the mother then merge the records for the child.
