Number of Descendancy Generations
I do a lot of descendancy research on FamilyTree and I have found that the Descendancy view does not display enough generations automatically. Currently, it is limited to 1, 2, 3, or 4 generations (as far as options you can click on), but it takes a lot of work to manually expand beyond the 4 generations of descendants. Would it be possible to add the ability to automatically expand the number of generations to at least 7 generations? That would make it so much easier to work with this view by reducing the amount of required clicking, especially since many of the people I work with on their research are older and struggle with technology in general. Anything we can do to make it easier for them would help a lot. Thanks!

This has been requested before and if my memory is correct, the limit is due to the required processing power (and display limits) were determining factors in selecting the maximum number of generations. (By the way, I have run into a display limit before for one of my ancestors even with four generations selected)

Thanks for your response. Yes, I saw those previous feedback discussions and I too have come across the "display limit" message from time to time, but my point is that not all lines are that large or that well-developed. For most descendancy lines, it would make sense to go to 5, 6, 7, or even 10 generations of descendants without any problems. So why should we limit the number of generations that can be expanded (automatically, not manually) just because some are too large? It seems to me that FamilySearch should be able to put a limit for the maximum number of descendants to display and then there could be a "more" button at the bottom if they want to get another batch of descendants beyond that. Or even if they just keep displaying the "display limit" message, that's fine. But for those people who need to do descendancy research on "smaller" lines, we need the ability to expand a little further automatically.
