Share Photos and Maintain privacy
I'm under no illusion that my idea is new or hasn't already been considered, but since I can't be sure, I'm submitting just in case.
We all want to help maintain the privacy of our living loved ones (thus we're cautioned against loading photos of living people. But we also want the reassurance that our family's memories are safe against potential destruction. If faces can be recognized and tagged, and if living people record information can be blocked from viewing because they are living, is there not a way to combine tagging faces with blocking info? For example. If I have a picture of me and my mother who is still living, couldn't there be a way that if she was tagged in the photo that that photo could be "blocked" from viewing by anyone but me until she and I pass? Or perhaps, if you can tag a face in a photo to a person, could not a fuzzy circle appear to block their face until they are confirmed as having passed with an official death certificate record?
I know some would say "better safe than sorry" but as I said, we all want to find ways to make sure our memories are properly catalogued and saved and that's not always possible on hard drives in safes. Just a thought since we have such amazing technology at our disposal.

You're essentially asking for FS to become a back-up or cloud service. While this is of course very important for genealogists, in order to preserve photos, documents and family memories, FS does not offer this. Privacy laws, and in particular the differing privacy laws in different countries, states and the EU make it extremely difficult for FS to offer such a service to all it's users. At best they probably could only offer it only in a small number of large countries or units (e.g. the EU or US).
There are plenty of other cloud services available where genealogists can upload their files.
