Add Family Share Option to Memories
I really have a suggestion and not a problem. I'm adding memories to my dad's file. He is deceased. I would like to put some things in for family to see but not the public. Unfortunately, the only choices are Public or Private-only me. There needs to be a third option for family - aka direct descendants/siblings/parents. Especially since some documents pertain to living people - like his marriage certificate and divorce judgement that have my mom on them. Or things like his military discharge papers that have all of his citations and awards on it that I'd like to share but not have be public.

This is an EXCELLENT suggestion.
Something else that 'FamilySearch' SHOULD consider and investigate the possibility.
.
My understanding in that there are MANY "Things" like this that 'FamilySearch' is 'grapping' with.
.
------------------
.
eg.
.
ESPECIALLY, for Member of the Church (with WHOLE Families/Generations) ...
.
"Sharing" the "Living" individuals/person in the "Private Spaces" of Users/Patrons with OTHER (ie. Family members) Users/Patrons.
.
"Inheritance"; and/or, "Bequeathing", of the "Living" individuals/persons; and, the (Private) "Memories", in the "Private Spaces" of a User/Patron who has (recently) passed away/died, with IMMEDIATE Family member(s) Users/Patrons.
.
In general, what to do with the 'FamilySearch' Account of a Church Member User/Patron who has (recently) passed away/died, with regard to IMMEDIATE (Church Member) Family member Users/Patrons.
.
------------------
.
As an aside ...
.
There is CURRENTLY no mechanism in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' for Users/Patrons, to "Share"; or, "give permission" to "Share", the "Living" individuals/persons (and/or, (Private) "Memories") in their own "Private Spaces" with/between other/another User(s)/Patron(s).
.
There are a myriad of "Privacy" Laws within the many various Countries and Unions throughout the World - it is a nightmare to negotiate.
.
"Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' is used in many Countries and Unions throughout the World; and, as such, must adhere to the myriad of "Privacy" Laws throughout the World.
.
Hence, "Privacy" is one of the reasons that we cannot "Share" the "Living" individuals/persons in our own "Private Spaces" - it is NOT the ONLY reason; but, certainly has a bearing on the matter.
.
Another factor is that such would have to be 'Coded'/'Programmed' into the Programme that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
'Make no bones about it', it is going to take some time ...
.
It is NOT a quick and easy fix ...
.
Just my thoughts.

The concept of sharing information with selected individuals is certainly worthy of consideration...
That said there are two factors -- one is logistical and, from what I've read, not only under consideration, but something that I believe (but do not know) is being worked on.
The second deals with world-wide laws of privacy (for living persons). Since FamilySearch is international, the most stringent civil laws regarding privacy have to be observed.
Here is another thing to think about. Suppose I have information that I only want certain relatives to see and not others. I suspect there are a number of those things out there, so how would that be handled?
