Many of us have been there ...
.
'Yes', it certainly would be nice ...
.
But ...
That said ...
.
'FamilySearch' should NOT do that ...
.
Like it or not, YOU could be WRONG ... 'Seriously' ... it has happened.
.
[ I have had to 'resurrect' a Child (or, two) that was marked as "Deceased", who in fact, lived to adulthood; got Married; and, had Children ]
.
Too MANY Users/Patrons would NOT do the "Research" (ie. checking); and, just 'gloss over'/accept what has been entered.
.
But, 'Yes' many DO NOT look; and, go ahead; and, add a Spouse and Children to a Child who died young ...
.
There are OTHER options ...
.
Firstly ...
.
Other Information Section ...
▬ + Add Information
▬ ▬ Facts
▬ ▬ ▬ No Couple Relationships
▬ ▬ ▬ No Children
Add a "Reason".
.
That 'throws up' an indicator (ie. Warning / Error Message) that, both, a NO, Couple Relationship; and, Children, FACT(s) has(/have) already been ADDED to that individual/person; and, you CANNOT proceed, unless you "Remove" that FACT.
.
Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch'
.
How do I indicate that a person in Family Tree had no children or was never in a relationship?
.
Secondly ...
.
Copious "Notes" EVERYWHERE ...
.
▬ Life Sketch;
▬ Other Information section
▬ ▬ Facts
▬ ▬ ▬ + Custom Fact
▬ Collaborate
... [ BOTH ]
▬ ▬ Notes
▬ ▬ Discussions
.
It can be the SAME or similar "Note" in ALL of the above.
.
That is what I do ... in EVERY case ...
.
IF, a User/Patron "Misses" ALL that; THEN, there is NO hope (for them) ...
.
Oh, and, I add then to my "Watch" List ... oops ... sorry ... those I "Follow" ...
.
Just my thoughts.
