Public Account Holders
Please provide a way to set public account holders to deceased. As it is, there is no process to set public account holders to deceased. This means their person page will not become visible to the public. What better record to have than the one a person creates for themselves and attaches memories and sources. Thanks

As there has not been any response to your post I am wondering if others are as baffled as me as to what you are really requesting. Surely you are not asking that users should be allowed to put their status as "deceased"?
Maybe I'm being downright silly to think that, but please expand on your idea so I can understand exactly what you are saying.

When a member of the church dies, the ward clerk records the death on the membership record. This causes the account of that member to be closed and locked, the person record of the member is set to deceased and now available to the public on the tree. Any memories and sources attached by the member are still there and now viewable by everyone. When a public account holder dies, there is no process to record that death. The account remains open but not useable unless the account holder provides username and password or helper information to a family member or friend. The person record of the account holder remains as living and there is no way to change that even if someone has access to the account. That means that no one can ever see the record of that account holder. Many users of Family Search spend a fair amount of work on their own record to leave as a legacy to their family. So I am asking for a process to set public account holders as deceased. Let me know if you have other questions.
