Problem with Instructions I Received
Re Case 07806069
The instructions I received in the email associated with referenced Case # are incorrect. If I follow those instructions I am not given (as the email indicates I would be) the option to select 'Suggestion or compliment' or 'Problem'.
I called FamilySearch and spoke to a brother who guided me through the correct way to put in a suggestion. At one point, though, I reached a page directing me to log in. I was already logged in. Apparently there is a login hierarchy. So, I started a new login from that point, but it appeared the system then recognized that I was logged in. To proceed, I was then asked to agree to some new legal requirements that that seemed to be different than the usual Terms & Privacy.
So, as you can see, I made it in far enough to provide this suggestion. I will now go back out, come in again, and put in the original issue/suggestion/etc.
Regards,
Paul Daniels

I am just another User/Patron like yourself ...
.
And, I am just thinking out aloud here ...
.
At first, as you selected the "Category" of "Indexing", I thought that this post of yours related to "Indexing" ...
.
But ...
That said ...
.
After reading through your post, I now see that your post seems to be about the (NEW) "Platform" for 'Feedback' (either, a "Suggestion" or "Complement") to 'FamilySearch'; and, in part, about, 'FamilySearch' "Support" Cases.
.
And, I understand your concern/angst ...
.
Please bear with me ...

FYI
.
The OLD 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum (either, a "Suggestion" or "Complement") has up until just recently, had been OPEARTING on an EXTERNAL "Platform", for many years. But, as the OWNERSHIP of that EXTERNAL "Platform" changed hands recently, the arrangement with 'FamilySearch' ceased; almost, abruptly.
.
As such, "FamilySearch' had to SCRAMBLE to find a NEW "Platform" for the OLD 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum.
.
'FamilySearch' has TEMPORARILY placed the 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" Forum in a (temporary) FORM in the EXISTING "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, within 'FamilySearch' itself. But, such is far from ideal.
.
We have been advised that the placement of the 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" Forum, in its current form, in the EXISTING "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, is ONLY temporary, until they find a suitable "Platform" (ie. a NEW 'Home') to house the 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" Forum .
.
Now ...
All that said ...
.
When you say ...
.
I reached a page directing me to log in.
I was already logged in.
Apparently there is a login hierarchy.
So, I started a new login from that point, but it appeared the system then recognized that I was logged in.
To proceed, I was then asked to agree to some new legal requirements that that seemed to be different than the usual Terms & Privacy.
.
I understand ...
.
BECAUSE you have NEVER been Part of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum BEFORE, you get that, as if, you were "Logging In", when you were ALREADY "Logged In".
.
Confused, 'Yes', so was I when I FIRST joined the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum quite a while back now.
.
The "Community.FamilySearch" Forum IS Part of 'FamilySearch"; but, it is its own, what you might call, autonomous body/division, just like the OTHER Parts of 'FamilySearch' are; but, they are all still part of the whole.
.
This is an OLD "Screenshot"; but, I think this is what you were referring to ...
.
.
EVERYONE that wishes to join and be part of (ie. participate in) the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, has to go through that, it is just that the 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" Forum, is temporarily 'Housed' in the EXISTING "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, that (Existing) Users/Patrons of the other Part of 'FamilySearch" must endure that process.
.
The 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" Forum is in a state of flux at the moment, temporarily so.
.
It should all get better ... but, it is just going to take, a little time ...
.
Whereas ...
As to ...
.
'FamilySearch' "Support" Cases, that is another Part of 'FamilySearch'; and, also what you might call, autonomous body/division; but, you do not have to 'jump through so many hoops'.
.
Please be patient with regard to the 'FamilySearch' "Feedback" Forum until it finds a NEW 'Home' (ie. "Platform").
.
I know that this does not help; but, I hope it gives you some perspective.
