Extend family tree beyond 15 generations
Please show relationships beyond 15 generations. There are a lot of accurate German church records in the 1700's. I was working on a family (Germany, Lutheran church records, late 1600's to late 1700's) and was unable to determine the Relationship status.
Since I am unable to determine the Relationship status, is it legit to submit any of those names to the temple (regardless of unknown Relationship)?

The same is true for Swedish records. It would be nice to go back further than 15 generarions.

While being able to show relationships beyond 15 generations is desirable, there may be one or more reasons why it is limited to 15 generations. One may have to be with processing power required (I really don't know), or it may be that many records beyond 15 generations are not trustworthy, or it may have to do with excessive "pedigree collapse" (the fact that one or more ancestral lines can track back to the same person). Again, I really don't know why 15 generations was chosen.
There may be other factors, such as not all areas of the world have accurate records that exist that far back, but I do not think that factored into the decision.
Keep in mind that (according to what we've been previously told) only the most direct routing is used. BYU's Relative Finder (available via the Solutions Gallery) allows all routes to be displayed (your choice). I do not know if it extends beyond 15 generations or not, but it may -- something to check out.

Regarding the (General) 'Question' that you recently raised in the this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum ...
.
I am unable to determine "Relationship" status of some direct ancestors and their families because they're beyond 15 generations. (Germany, Lutheran church records) Does this mean I can submit their names to the temple anyway?
.
Sometimes I go down rabbit holes and I use the Relationship status link to help me find my way back to the family I was working on. Not even "History" helped this time. I had to go into my Tree and follow the Tree back to the great, great.... grandmother I was working on.
.
Someone wrote that the issue was because the Medieval records were inaccurate. The 1700's are in the Baroque era which was preceded by the Renaissance era by several centuries. There are accurate records in these time periods.
