Access Privileges to Living Relatives ID Numbers
I don't understand why Family Search can't put access privileges in place to allow living family members to share their unique ID number for there individual account. I understand the need for privacy, but it doesn't make sense that my living family members have to add me to their tree and they each get a different ID number for me and vise versa. Only after I die my number can become public and available to them. To me, that's too late. Lets say I've been adding pictures and memories about myself in my account. Nobody can see this information until I die. I would like living relatives including my kids and grandkids to be able to read my memories and see my pictures now. Also, what if a family member would like to share a memory or share a picture about me. I have to manually add it for them. It would be nice to see who added the memory or picture. It's another way for family and relatives to get to know each other and share information.
Maybe a setting where the origin living relative (myself) can give access to specific living relatives based on their unique ID's. I'm quite certain your developers can create a safe and secure way to address this suggested enhancement. It would be like accepting a friend request on a social media platform. I'm just sharing my idea, but it 's ultimately up to you and your product manager to consider it.
I hope you'll give some consideration to allowing living people to share a living persons unique ID number with living family members.

FamilySearch has looked into this and continues to do so - - at some point I imagine there will be an option - but dont expect it any time soon.
In the mean time
here are some links that explain how the items you have uploaded to FS Memories actually can be shared with family.

You are not alone ...
.
FYI
.
Hopefully, 'FamilySearch' is investigating, "Inheritance"; and/or, "Bequeathing" options/abilities (or, some other options/abilities); but, that is all subject to "Privacy" ...
.
We have been previous advised by "Official 'FamilySearch' Representatives", in the former 'FamilySearch' ("GetSatisfaction") 'Feedback' Forum, that 'FamilySearch is INVESTIGATING ways and means, with regard to "Privacy".
.
Remember:
.
There are a myriad of "Privacy" Laws within the many various Countries and Unions throughout the World - it is a nightmare to negotiate.
.
"Family Tree" of "FamilySearch" is used in many Countries and Unions throughout the World; and, as such, must adhere to the myriad of "Privacy" Laws throughout the World.
.
Hence, "Privacy" is one of the reasons that we cannot "Share" the "Living" individuals/persons in our own "Private Spaces" - it is NOT the ONLY reason; but, certainly has a bearing on the matter. And, also "Memories".
.
Another factor is that such would have to be 'Coded'/'Programmed' into the Programme that is "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'.
.
It is a LONG and hard road ...
.
It is certainly NOT as easy, as most of us think ...
.
Just my thoughts ...
.
We can live in hope ...

what about the connected accounts function? I don't have any, I have just wondered if that was a way to do that.

I really agree with this. I have spent so much time uploading family pictures that I would like to share. Perhaps a family gallery?
