NO ERROR MESSAGE WHEN REQUESTING ORDINANCES HURTS SYSTEM EFFECTIVENESS
Should there be a possible duplicate (or other issues) when an ordinance is requested, the REQUEST button simply does not go active. The user is left to wonder what the problem might be - is it FamilySearch, is it my computer, is it the browser, is something wrong with the record, etc. etc. The suggestion is that adding some sort of notification about the possible nature of the problem will help improve the process of bringing our forebears to the Temple.
Case 07868473 is a bit long but contains a screenshot of the problem (which is that the REQUEST button at the bottom is blank, with no explanation; cause in this Case is that a possible duplicate existed).

I'm not sure I understand the question.
So, in 07868473 it appears that the cause for the REQUEST button to be not active is that there are duplicates. And we are to review those first as some information may be in the duplicates that is needed.

'Yes', I totally agree ...
.
The "Response" that one gets when, "Requesting" the "Ordinances"; and, there ARE Possible "Duplicates", is NOW ... Flawed/Faulty ... certainly, not as 'clear cut' as it used to be.
.
Perhaps, because, I has my "Browser" at MORE than 100% ...
.
But ...
.
I DID NOT see anything about Possible "Duplicates" ...
All a saw was a "Read More" ('Button'/link) ...
Which, when selected, took one to a "Knowledge Article" about "Merging" / "Combining".
.
The "System" was much better and intuitive BEFORE, when, page/screen indicated that there were Possible "Duplicates", that needed investigation; before, one was able to "Request" the "Ordinance" Work.
.
The old adage is so true, in this case ... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" ...
.
Whatever 'FamilySearch did in this instance (update), certainly 'Broke', a 'good thing' ...
.
Just my thoughts.

ps: FYI, I do not have access to the aforementioned "Support" Case.

Whenever I request an ordinance and there is a possible duplicate to fix, it seems to me that the words "possible duplicate" that appear just above the "request" button are so small that they are easy to miss. imho, they are terribly small. I wish one of two things would happen. One, make the words larger. Or, two, put that information back where it used to be in a little note next to the ordinance which could be seen before you even clicked on the "request" click that sits next to every available ordinance.

Sister Hearle! As usual you have the sharpest eyes this side of the Mississippi! You are amazing. HOWEVER the problem is that it is not obvious to the average person that that text field is associated with the fact that the "Request" button is not lit up. It needs to be colored, blinking, highlighted or something. Both myself (ahem not unusual) but also the 2 Family Search Support Missionaries who looked at the Case - and created a 2nd case - missed it! And one of them had another call on the same problem this past week. Bottom line: GUI design improvement would help people avoid time-eating confusion while trying to reserve ordinances. Here's what the screen looks like. Notice that the "Possible Duplicates" is followed by "Learn More" which only adds to the potential of user confusion.
