Warning I'm just being logical about this, rather than talking from experience. If the certification process mandates that FS check the desktop (or whatever) User Interface and ensure that FSFT items X, Y and Z (whatever they are) appear, then FS can indeed ensure that a warning in FSFT appears in the desktop program.
However, I suspect that the certification process will go only as far as the API (Application Programming Interface) between FSFT and the desktop program. That would mean that if there was a spot in the API for such warnings, there would probably be no way that FS could guarantee its use in the desktop program. I could be wrong but my gut reaction is that nobody would allow FS such powers over their own desktop interface.
The other aspect is whether or not such items are even in the API - given that so many of these items (Memories, Discussions, etc.?) are concepts found only in FSFT, I have my doubts that they appear in the API (I guess the GEDCOM-X specification would contain the answer to that. Would? Could?)
I repeat, I'm saying this from logic not knowledge but I am trying to set expectations so that if someone says, "Of course it will, they're certified", then hopefully people will push for a bit more confirmatory detail.0 -
