Not everyone deserves a medal. Bring back individual contributor statistics in indexing reports

But I sure want to praise those individuals who index 10,000 a month. Now that I don't know who is doing it, I can't provide praise and recognition. Not everyone deserves a medal.

Leeann Porter said: I too would like them back! We don't use them for recognition but to see if someone needs help because they are sending so many back or some encouragement to try other projects. I can't see who is just looking at projects and who is doing them now.
Makes it a lot harder to help others. NOT a big fan of this update.0 -

Take a look at this Message that recently appeared in the Community.FamilySearch Forum in the Group known as Indexing Chat:

The emphasis being ... focus on having uplifting experiences and producing quality records
ie. QUALITY over Quantity.
Indexing should NOT be a Competition - in any, way; shape; or, form.
There is NO need to Praise or Recognise those who do Indexing.
Doing Indexing is a Service that we provide for others, just as others have done for us.

We need people who can help others within their own ward. There's often a big difference in ability, as well as confidence, between those who index a lot of records on a regular basis and those who might only be starting out and only have a few collections under their belt.0

Liz said: That is correct, that it certainly is extremely helpful to know who has a lot of Indexing experience when trying to find trainers to help others with Indexing.
Unfortunately, the Statistics of individual Members of Wards/Stakes from Family Tree of FamilySearch were used by some local Church Leaders to Name and Shame. That is why such Statistics were REMOVED from the Family History Activity Report a short while back.
That Naming and Shaming of individual Members of Wards/Stakes by some (probably the same) local Church Leaders most likely extended to Indexing. That is why such Statistics have been REMOVED from the Indexing Reports.0 -
Wayne Cooke said: That is the fault of those doing it. It is like not taking rolls in classes/quorums because you don't want to "shame" those who aren't coming. I, as a Family History/Temple consultant and Ward leader, I really second the comment above. It is handy to know. Question: Since I have access to the 'reports', does everyone, or only the Consultants and the Elders Quorum President, whose names are listed above the new 'report'?0

Christina Sachs Wagner said: It looks like all consultants have access to the current reports.0

Leeann Porter said: Only those listed in the box above the 'report' button.0

And if it's a matter of poorer quality at a disproportionate rate for those who index a lot, wouldn't it be better to implement the means of providing constructive feedback for records that are wrong? With better feedback, everyone learns. It's sad that we have to remove useful tools.0 -

Tom Huber said: Whenever someone is misusing a report, the report itself tends to "go away". However, the trend away from reports has nothing to do with misuse, but with the same things that changed a lot of reporting.
For a long time, there was a request to "return and report", even about temple attendance. The ended a number of years ago, and at this point in time, members are not asked about their temple attendance.
Home and Visiting teaching was one of the areas where the "return and report" ended and was replaced by ministering. At this point in time, some members are interviewed by their respective leaders (E.Q. and R.S. presidencies), but only to find out if there are any issues that need to be discussed in council meetings.
While some reports are being generated, the trend is still away from them. Much of this, as far as members of the Church are concerned, is a matter between the member and the Lord.
I don't expect reports to come back anytime in the future.0 -
