Bug in attachment of historical records to tree - when attaching step-children

Grandmother dies. Daughter marries someone with children from a prior marriage, and they're seen as step-grandchildren.
I tried to attach them as follows:
====================================================
Person of record and spouse Selected Person and Spouse
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Father Father
Daughter Select OTHER (now blank, mother not known)
====================================================
Children on Record Children from Family Tree
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Child from other marriage #1 + Add (Empty)
Try to create the child of the Father and
unknown mother. (via Create New Record)
====================================================
I get a brief flash on the screen, and the following appears (with the Add to Family Tree dialogue box still open for Child for other marriage #1.
====================================================
Person of record and spouse Selected Person and Spouse
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Father Father
Daughter Daughter (THIS IS WRONG, but automatically
put here after the screen flash)
====================================================
Children on Record Children from Family Tree
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Child from other marriage #1 + Add (Empty)
Try to create the child of the Father and
unknown mother. (via Create New Record)
====================================================
.
.
.
.
====================================================
Other from Family Tree (1)
Child from other marriage #1
====================================================
(Child *WAS* created!, but asking again up there
but with incorrect family structure - this is
correctly shown, but the record is NOT
attached - a correct sequence, since it's
attached after the child is added to Family
Tree)
I added a sanitized screen shot for the 2nd part above.

For me, I prefer to use the living person section only to connect myself with my ancestral lines. I do everything else, including step- or other relationships, in my local Ancestral Quest database.
Getting back to the problem -- while it would be nice to add the obit to everyone mentioned in the obit, I really don't have a problem with older obits (published before the turn of the century), but the more recent ones will contain a lot of people who are still living.
I've recently run into two instances where the persons mentioned were still alive (no evidence of death and found with a Zaba search - https://www.zabasearch.com/). In both cases, I changed their "deceased" record (no dates were provided) to "living" and reported why I felt the person was not deceased.0 -
Tom Huber said: What I'm saying is that it would be nice if the source linker was more selective on the computerized obituary listings and not try to match up those mentioned in obits from the past ten or so years (aside from the principle obit person).0
