Tom Huber said: Philip, the discussion talks about bulk messaging, which is what you are asking for.
There are a lot of pros and cons to the idea and are hashed out in that discussion. Feel free to add to it if you want.0 -
Philip Andrew Paskett said: Tom, I am sorry I miss communicated. My goal and purpose is to make it possible to only identify and send direct communication to interested parties, rather than reaching out to contributor in hopes that someone would be interested.0

There are many topics discussing the collaboration issue. Try "search topics" abobe right.0 -

I tend to agree with you. Though it would never be likely to happen, I would like that whoever would like to post a source in Sources or make changes that they would have to register to provide their relationship in order to post or change any items of information.
About half of the Sources and change attributions in my section of FT do not provide access except by request. Those who do register so you can view their relationship, if any, in my lines are mostly 10 or more generations removed from me. It is very rare that someone who attaches a source whose kinship is within 5 generations. And, even rarer that they have any of my closest family surnames involved.
I call them the "flybys" but am thinking that I'll start calling them the "hit and runs"!0 -
When I see that there are a number of people watching an individual, it would be EXTREMELY helpful to be able to contact them and ask them how they are connected to that individual.
If privacy of their email addresses is an issue, then at least allow us to message them through their usernames.
Surely this can easily be done. It would really make a massive difference
