The current reports from the web site are simple data dumps, in fact they are too simple as the data doesn't even include dates. I've created a python program that downloads, formats the data and adds the month, then generates reports based on history. I'd like to start a project that creates those reports automatically within familysearch instead of having to download, modify the data, and then generate the reports. I'm willing to do the work.I'm attaching the first page of the report.

Thank you! I think this is a wonderful idea. I'm going to forward this on to a few individuals who might be able to help us get this started, or at least let us know if this is a possibility.

The key is building the reports internally to FamilySearch so that you don't have to maintain a local database and you don't have to manually download from the current report screen.

We have a new reporting system coming in web indexing in 2017. We will provide the summary stats for members of the ward or stake and allow a stake indexing director to run more detailed reports and also download a CSV/Excel file for additional analysis.

The majority of indexing directors should find the new reports and downloads more than sufficient. I can't promise that we will have a deep analytics and graphing tool in the next year or two, as nice as that might be for a handful of users. As we identify reports and graphs that are meaningful to a significant number of users, we will certainly look at those.

Kudos to you and your lucky wife for having the skills needed to do this. Your stake is lucky to have you.
