Can We Please Have the Default Sort CHANGED from Score to Chronological

Having the default for the Sort type being Score is a total nuisance. It scrambles all threads in a topic and is confusing as the default. The default for thread presentation for nearly all social medial is chronological.

Personally I doubt that I will ever be wanting a thread to be shown based on a popularity basis.

BTW, the sort order and all filters always reverts back to the default anytime a screen refresh is performed.

    1. I agree with Jeff's suggestion of defaulting to 'chronological'
    2. I gave it a thumbs up which will put the idea as more popular.
    3. I clicked on the little 'flag' in the upper right corner of the message - it appears to be a method to report a problem with the post. It might need a better explanation somewhere. (After not entering anything, it has subsequently disappeared)
    4. "Confirm" seems a strange term to 'post' a comment - but obviously it worked.
    5. The url for the page shows as "Not Secure"

    I'll now "Confirm" to post

The edit feature works - I notice the names of who is making the comment chose twice.

It's interesting that the newest comment goes to the top (as opposed to below in GetSat. I guess that works though.

Not the first time that you're reading a thread, it doesn't. Especially if any comments are lengthy because you have to scroll down to read the end of the comment and then back up to read the next comment.

    Grrr.

Between the inability to open threads in a new tab and the sorting reverting right back to popularity Every Single Effing Time, it took fourteen (!) page loads to find and read four new threads on this forum. I'm not sure I have the stamina or brain space for this, even temporarily.

FamilySearch, why in the name of all that is holy can't we right-click thread titles and open them in a new tab? And what possible purpose does "popularity" serve in this context?

Repeating my question from the thread I started: what exactly is the intended method of navigation here? Do the designers just not expect people to read anything on the forum?

I hope this topic applies both to the ordering of topics within the Ideas Forum, and the ordering of comments within a particular topic.

The chronological sort for topics within the Ideas Forum should also take into account the dates of comments to a topic, not just the date of the first post in a topic.

It is also madness to include within a particular topic, the default option of having the comments listed by popularity.

Surely the strength of the previous GetSatisfaction Forum was the discussions which eventuated which contributed to the topic as a whole. To get the gist of the discussion, you need to read in chronological order. What has popularity got to do with that?

I've just noticed that the Topic sort of "Latest Comments" has been change to "Latest Activity" and it is, in fact, sorting that correctly (although it is still not set as the default)

    Thanks you FS!

Now if we can just get the Comments sorting by "Posting" set as the default my problem of the constant multiple clicking that I have to do on a given thread will be cut by more than half.
