Samuel Lowder said: We need a way to show parents divorces and remarriage. For example, if my parents are divorced and then remarried show that in the fan chart with all of their other children that they have. Make a separation between the two of them and add the option to put in the new spouse.

Tom Huber said: Printable charts have limitations that need to be understood. While it may be nice for a chart to show additional spouses and children, to show that in a fan chart may be impossible. Think about the logistics when the divorce rate is 50% of the married population and many people have children by different spouses.

"Yours, Mine, and Ours" comes to mind. How should something like that appear in a fan chart -- put it down on paper to make sure it is even doable, especially if that family is in the second or third generation.
