The transcription is just not the same as the actual image. I think it's a great shame that FAmily Search thought it was a good idea to make some money and make some records limited. I search other countries through Family Search and have no problem but the English ones are horribly restricted. Not impressed.

Most English County Record Offices seek to make profits from their records. Therefore they contract companies like FMP or Ancestry.com to digitize their records. FS having microfilmed many of these records a long time ago causes a problem- people would view FS's free records rather than paying FMP or Ancestry. Therefore FS has to agree to make the records restricted so that most people would rather pay subscription fees then come to the FHC or Affiliate Library.
In other cases, FS is obliged, as part of their partnerships with FMP and Ancestry, to make the records restricted. The reason is to help FMP and Ancestry increase their profits.
If you don't like this, and you live and vote in the UK, you should participate in local elections as the local councils have a lot of power over this situation.0
