side-by-side family members in merge

One feature I miss from the old one is that if both individuals in the comparison have some of the same family members, the old system would align them side-by-side, making it very easy to tell at a glance that the two individuals share some of the exact same family members. The new system doesn't align these family members, and so the only way to tell is to compare ID numbers.

Welcome to the FamilySearch Forum at GetSatisfaction!
If what you are talking about by "the same family members" are family members with the same exact PID numbers, then I agree completely!
However, if they are the same names but DIFFERENT PID numbers, then absolutely not. They should NOT be aligned. This is so that it is fully apparent that there are likely duplicates in the family member collection as well.
I've not explored the new merge too much so I'm not exactly sure of what you are talking about. A screenshot showing this could help.0 -

Sorry, I didn't save a screenshot.0 -
Jeff Wiseman said: I just gave you a like :-) That definitely should be happening. Frequently for the same person, one will have different relationship types with the parents (E.g., step or biological). This is the only really simple and easy way of comparing this "same person" side by side to see which of the two sets of data for that family member that you should keep.0
