new merging, cannot easily see marriage date to compare

Are there instructions on this new merging process? It would be really nice if there was a link to take us to instructions and hints on the first merge page that comes up.

This will result in MANY MORE WRONG MERGES, which I am sure the engineers were trying to correct. Oops, back to the drawing board?
