m said: Wait a sec, is the surviving person on the right now? Maybe I'm totally confused. I think the new merge is too hard for me right now with no sleeping lately.0

m said: Oh, no! harder to figure out.0

Jordi Kloosterboer said: lol. Yeah it says surviving person and possible duplicate at the top. It is like the source attacher where things move to the right. Just have to get used it being the otherway round haha0

Erika Campbell said: This new merge program is totally useless. Please put the former one back in operation. I don't know what the engineers were thinking.

gasmodels said: no it did not there were issues with not retaining all relationships and also not being able to carefully review before merging. I spend several hours each week undoing incorrect merges just because the mother and father have the same given names. People will merge and get two or three children born the same year in one family (very unlikely). I don't know if this merge will resolve all of the issues but am hopeful that it will be better.0

Logan Allred said: The previous version was also very expensive and slow for patrons in areas of the world with poor internet or metered connections. Those with fast internet may not notice the difference, but load times on 3G networks is vastly improved with the new pages as is download size.0

m said: Logan, that's a good enough reason for me.0

Logan Allred said: It seems a bit harsh to say totally useless. I recognize that the new design is clearly not comfortable for you. The most constructive thing is to list specific flaws so they can be addressed. The changes were made due to feedback from other patrons that were struggling or making too many mistakes, and unfortunately to help some, they have to make things sometimes more inconvenient for others.
I hope we agree it's much more work to undo a bad merge than it is to make merges a bit more deliberate.
Is it primarily having multiple steps that is annoying, or are there other changes that will make it more difficult for you to do good merges?0
