Indefinite "SP waiting" hold for previous Individual Ordinances still in Shared With Temple Queue

Carolyn Gast Depp said: Please allow SP ordinance reservations to last longer than the normal "two years hold" when EN (or other previous individual ordinances) are still pending in the "Shared With Temple" Queue. We women *cannot* complete male endowments, but still can assist in a male's SP ordinance. And long to!

I do this with the SP I have that are in a waiting status. Though instead of making a separate list, I sort the reservation list so that I can look at the SP together and then I click on the person's name and check the list of ordinances to see which ones may now be ready for me to print.0 -
Tom Huber said: Keep in mind that all temples are now closed until further notice due to the coronavirus that is sweeping across the world. I don't know how this is going to impact the time limits for the reserved, but not shared, ordinances and do not remember seeing anything from FamilySearch on the topic.
General News on how the coronavirus is impacting the Church and its meetings can be found at https://newsroom.churchofjesuschrist.... - As conditions change, that page gets updated.0 -

From Ron Tanner - 3.15.2020
"I know that COVID-19 is a sensitive topic, and one that is fearful and causing some big changes in our world at the moment. I know it is affecting not only how we work, go to school and interact with each other but it is also affecting how we think about things moving forward.
As you might be aware, all church meetings, temples and activities have been suspended until further notice. With that we have had multiple support emails coming through asking about a pause in regards to temple reservations with time limits.
At this time, we are not going to be activating a pause since we are suspecting the suspension of activities to be short. If you do have a record that is coming up on it's time limit we recommend doing the following.:
Go into that reservation, click on the PID, go to the person page, then on the ordinance tab unreserve the ordinance, and then immediately re-reserve it on that same page. Doing so will reset the clock and saving it for another 2 years. Please note that this will only work on standard two year reservations.
In regards to Ordinance Ready reservations, you unreserve or wait until it expires, then reclick Ordinance Ready to get the same ordinances - however, you might not get the same person.
If we do opt to put into place a pause on the time limit, we will make sure to notify you as soon as possible."0 -
David Newton said: What is "short" though? This will probably last at least 6 months with most restrictions in place. That's a substantial proportion of the two year reservation period. Why do I say six months? Combination of my own estimates and that that is what a lot of experts are saying. The Deputy Chief Medical Officer for England said that at the UK's daily COVID-19 briefing the other day. Also the other thing is the wide catchment areas a lot of the temples serve. Making long journeys in the current circumstances for non-essential reasons (and yes religious journeys are non-essential) is not a good idea to put it mildly. So I suspect that quite a few of the temples will remain shut even after things have died down locally to them.0

Tom Huber said: I think many, including FamilySearch -- or the decision makers -- are hoping this current health issue will be resolved in the next few months and that is the reason why Ron said what he did in the middle of March (thanks to Amy for posting his remarks). However, given the current state of affairs, I suspect the problem may exist for at least several more months, if not a half- or full year before immunization and cures have been fully identified against this virus.0

Christina Sachs Wagner said: A temple ordinance completion message is received when the endowment is completed and you can unshare the SP with the temple at that point, If it requires being unreserved and re-reserved to buy some more time, you can do it at that time.0

Christina Sachs Wagner said: If you do not want to share SP ordinances with the temple while waiting for the prior ordinances to be completed, I recommend you know (and be aware of) the nearest expiration dates. You can determine which ordinances will expire soonest, by changing the order of your reservations. Click on Date Reserved and choose Date Expires. Before I turned all but direct lines over to the Temple, I knew what my next expiration date was and made sure to unreserve and re-reserve each name to keep them on my list.
I believe you receive a message when ordinances are about to expire, but I have never let my reservations reach that point to know for sure.0 -

The entire contents of that "Knowledge Article"; as, reference by 'Jessie', should appear as a "Banner" on the "Ordinances" 'Tab' of individuals/persons.
What happens to my ordinance reservation during the COVID-19 outbreak?
https://www.familysearch.org/help/sal...
Or, in the least, the "Shortened" version; AS (now), appears on the "Temple" 'Tab' of Member Users/Patrons.
Personally, I feel that the entire contents of that "Knowledge Article" should appear as a "Banner" on the "Temple" 'Tab' of Member Users/Patrons, rather than that just the "Shortened" version that appears now - it is not that long; and, would not take up too much room (real estate) - it is VERY important - it need to be 'in you face'.
And ... by the way ... I suggest that that the 'link', following the "Shortened" version, of that "Banner", that appears on the "Temple" 'Tab' of Member Users/Patrons, SHOULD be directed to the aforementioned "Knowledge Article" in the first instance, rather than where it is directed currently.
Just a thought.
