Tom Huber said: The recent name change for all the Church ecclesiastical sites (lds.org, mormon.org, etc.) did not impact FamilySearch.org. However, if you have any of those bookmarked, you will need to update your bookmarks for the non-FamillySearch.org sites.0

Tom Huber said: For those having problems using FamilySearch, The Family History Guide is a FamilySearch-approved training guide (http://thefhguide.com/) that is well organized and can even help some of us old timers. The guide also covers using several other sites.
I am not associated in any way with the Family History Guide folks, FamilySearch, or any other site. I am a user that likes to help others.0 -

Are you using a Computer and the "Web" version of "FamilySearch"?
Or, are you using a "Mobile" Device (eg. Mobile Phone) and the "Mobile" Application version of "FamilySearch".
==========
If your are using a Computer and the "Web" version of "FamilySearch" ...
Then ...
Is this what you are talking about; and, seeing? ...
Then, if that is the case then you need to 'Select' those "Three Lines' in the TOP right-hand-corner.
That should give you this:
Then, should should be able to 'Select' the "Search" function/feature/facility ...
==========
Now ...
That said ...
To try to fix the problem/issue, make sure that the "Zoom" for your "Browser" is set a 100%.
If the "Zoom" for your "Browser" is set to MORE than 100%; then, reduce the "Zoom" for your "Browser" to 100%.
That may give you this:
Where you can access the "Search" function/feature/facility ...
==========
IF that does not address/fix your problem/issue; then, it could be a "Screen Resolution" situation ... and that is another matter.
==========
I hope this helps.
Brett
ps: If it is a "Mobile" Device (eg. Mobile Phone) and "Mobile" App, let us know.

Tom Huber said: There are a lot of generalized complaints about the "complicated" nature of FamilySearch -- most based upon how it has changed over the years.
The site has been and continues to be developed. There are areas that need attention and as the old routines (often "borrowed" from a previous system) are retired and newer code is introduced, the changes made can be "jarring".
A number of these involve the inclusion of mobile icon in place of written links (such as menu) or mouse actions that now require a click rather than just moving the mouse pointer over a menu item.
They have been raised in other discussions in this forum. Some have resulted in improvements and some have not.
But, a generalized complaint is not going to attract attention from any engineer or manager of FamilySearch..
Each issue needs its own thread and needs to be very specific and if a complication is involved, then screen shots can be very helpful.0
